Love is a wave

Image
Before I begin to preach about what I am about to preach about, allow me to tell you how I came up with such a dramatic title. I have a light, a neon lamp basically which spells ‘Love’, I motioned the lamp in a wave and captured this deep ( only if you see it) photograph. Kudos to my camera! Love is a feeling that we are supposed to hold for others if we are conditioned that way. Just like a wave, our feelings including love experience high tides and low tides. Here, I will not talk about love, the one that is being shared between two subjects ( assuming that love can happen not only in humans but animals as well ), but the one that you hold within yourself for yourself. Talking about ‘Self Love’, how many of you would name you when asked about a list of things and people you love? You’d call your insecurities out, your imperfections, you’re a human after all. But have you ever imagined what happens when you start loving yourself? To this, my younger version would say “ Me neither, pas...

Why do we need feminism?

Image
Feminist protestors (source-History.com) In one of my previous articles, “Feminism, Pseudo Feminism and Misandry”, I emphasised on the difference between the three words and how often they end up getting mixed. I also wrote about how due to pseudo feminism the actual motive of the  #Metoo  movement has lost momentum. In the following article, I will talk about why in the progressive 21st-century feminism is still needed. Recently on Instagram, we came across a “humanitarian” ( you know her), who in her videos makes only partial sense and goes on saying controversial things without the potentiality of welcoming constructive criticism. In a video, she says ” gareeb se gareeb ghar ki ladki bhi IAS officer banne a sapna dekh sakti hai” ( a girl belonging to an impecunious household is ‘allowed’ to dream of becoming an IAS officer), that is rightly said but my question is that can a destitute girl with prevailing social, cultural and economic factors actually turn that dream into...

Feminism, Pseudo Feminism and Misandry

Image
Image from The Candor-WordPress.com In light of recent events like the ‘Bois locker room’, fake Snapchat rape screenshot and the suicide of Manav Singh, the  Instagram youth  voiced their dissent came out with their stories solidified by proof or otherwise and held so-called ‘ Social media trials ‘. Everyone seems to have an opinion and their own narration of what happened and what did not happen and suggestions as on how the law should or should not tackle these issues. However, in the early phases of the movement, the institution called ‘Law’ appeared to be missing when the youth took to their Instagram stories  calling out and declaring  individuals of the gender opposite to theirs Guilty of bullying, molestation, attempt to rape or RAPE. It is shocking to learn that these allegations have been put by and on underage teenagers, most of them being fourteen to fifteen year old. Since everyone has been voicing their opinion on social media platforms like Instagram,...

JOHANNA BRAUN

Image
Johanna Braun, a middle-aged woman in her forties popularly known as the scornful woman in the streets of Goslar, a small German town, widely known for its architecture. She was a brunette with golden highlights, her untamed locks kept loose over her anaemic white face with blue eyes. otherwise beautiful but in a dilapidated condition, Johanna would stand to stare at her tiny frame with protruding ribs in the mirror every day with a glass of wine in her pale and skinny hands. Before she lost the love of her life to a terminal illness and her children whom she dearly loved were taken away from her into foster homes, Johanna was this unbelievably beautiful woman with straight brown hair reaching her lower waist and skin as white as pearls. She had an hourglass figure and wore ensembles that befitted her curves. She was an exuberant woman, with a sweet voice who was dear to almost everyone she knew. However, after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Johanna seemed to lose control...
